Feb. 26, 2015 ELMHURST,Ill- After claiming their second straight Summit League Championship and setting numerous records, the University of Denver Swimming and Diving team has been recognized for their performances this year and in the Championships. 31 Pioneer swimmers and divers have been named to the All Summit League team. Also head coach Brian Schrader has been named the Summit League Coach of the Year for both Men's and Women's team. Maddie Myers and Ray Bornman have been named the Summit League Newcomers of the Year. Senior Sam Corea was named the Summit League Championship MVP and Ross Edfort was named the Championship Diving MVP.
Coach Schrader on the performance of the team ""Very proud and pleased with the efforts and performances from our student athletes. They represented themselves and Denver very well, and any post season recognition is icing on the cake."
Head Diving Coach Channing Kimball on Edfort's recognition "Ross finished out his career as a DU diver with two big wins. His hard work and mental toughness really helped him be successful. He was a great mentor to Ryan this year, and from the results, I can see that Ryan is going to have a lot of success ahead of him."
