April 10, 2015 DENVER -- The No. 42 Denver men's tennis team (14-7, 4-0 Summit League) won their fifth match in a row by defeating DePaul (11-9), 5-2 Friday night.
Denver jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles contests. The 10th consecutive doubles point for the Pioneers. Sophomores Yannik James and Diogo Rocha won their 12th doubles match this season, 8-5 over David Vieyra and Jan-Willem Feilzer. Junior David Fox and Zach Fryer grabbed the other doubles win, 8-3 over Galoustian/de Veer.
No. 107 Henry Craig defeated Vieyra, 7-5, 7-6 on court one to earn his 10th win of the season. On court two No. 102 Rocha earned a hard fought victory over Alex Galoustian, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6. Rocha leads the team with 15 singles wins.
Sophomore Alex Gasson would tally a point for the Pioneers on court three. He dropped Sten Leusink, 7-6, 6-4. Fox would earn his 10th win as well. He defeated Kyle Johnson, 7-6, 6-3.
Denver will next face Fort Wayne Saturday at Noon MT.
