Pioneers Earn Fifth Summit League Win

FORT WAYNE, IND. -- The No. 42 Denver men's tennis team (15-7, 5-0 Summit League) continued their win streak Saturday afternoon against the Fort Wayne Mastodons. The Pioneers have now won six consecutive matches with a, 6-1 win over IPFW.
The No. 30 doubles pairing of junior Henry Craig and sophomore Alex Gasson picked up their seventh win of the season together, but the Mastodons would take the doubles point.
Denver would stop Fort Wayne in their tracks in the singles by winning every position. Junior David Fox would knot the match at one with a, 6-3, 6-3 win on court four. Gasson gave the Pioneers the, 2-1 lead with a win over Carlos do Val, 6-3, 6-2.
No. 103 Diogo Rocha made the lead, 3-1 with his 15th win of the season. Sophomore Yannik James clinched the match victory on court five when he defeated Martin Muadi, 6-1, 6-4.
Freshman Wyatt Lovera battled out a three set victory over Karl Wangensten-Oye, 6-1, 4-6, 10-6. No. 107 Craig would cap off the singles sweep with his own three set victory over Gerard Guell.
Denver will go for the weekend sweep when they face IUPUI Sunday at 10:00 a.m. MT.
