April 25, 2015 FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The No. 51 Denver men's tennis team (17-8, 6-0) defeated Oral Roberts, 4-0 Saturday morning at the Wildwood Racquet Club. The Pioneers will now advance to the championship match Sunday and face Fort Wayne at 8:00 a.m. MT.
The Pioneers took control of the match with doubles wins on courts two and three. Sophomores Diogo Rocha and Yannik James defeated Amar Saletovic and Ciaran Lavers, 8-3. Junior David Fox and freshman Jesse Ruder-Hook followed that up with an, 8-5 win over Michael Sosnowski and Braxton Bates to clinch the doubles point.
With a, 1-0 lead Fox quickly dispatched Alvaro Santamaria, 6-1, 6-0. Rocha also worked quickly to defeat Alejandro Capdqui to push the score to, 3-0.
Junior Henry Craig claimed the match victory for the Pioneers when he defeated Saletovic, 6-2, 6-3 on court one.
