DENVER - University of Denver gymnastics alumna Jessica Lopez (Caracas, Venezuela) won the silver medal in the uneven bars event final at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto on Tuesday. She scored a 14.700, only .025 out of first place.

Lopez also qualified to the balance beam event final on Wednesday, where she finished sixth with a score of 12.775.

As a member of the DU Gymnastics team from 2006-09, Lopez was a five-time All-American and competed at the NCAA National Championships in three consecutive seasons. She was inducted into the DU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.

Representing her native Venezuela, Lopez is a two-time Olympian (2008, 2012) and most recently finished eighth at the 2014 World Championships in the all-around.
