DU SWIMMING AND DIVING ANNOUNCES 2015-16 TEAM CAPTAINS

July 30, 2015

Denver- The University of Denver men's and women's swimming head coach, Brian Schrader, has announced his captains for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Seniors Kyle Robrock (Savage, Minn.) and Dylan Bunch (Boulder City, Nev.), as well as junior Matt Hulstine (Craig, Colo.) have been named captains for the men's team, while seniors Zoe Huddleston (Rothschild, Wis.) and Ashley Taylor (Granite Bay, Calif.), along with junior Nicole Cassou (Castle Rock, Colo.) have been selected to lead the women's team.

"Leadership is so critical to your team culture and to what makes a team able to keep making a step forward every year," Schrader said. "Our student athletes took a nice step forward last year with performance, and culture is a big part of that. I am excited to have this group lead our team next year, and I know that resonates with our staff and student athletes."

Robrock, a Minnesota native, will captain the men's squad for his second straight season, while Bunch and Hulstine will help lead the Pios for the first time in their careers. Bunch earned All-American honors after finishing in seventh place at the 2015 NCAA Championships in the 1650 free. He also remains unbeaten in career dual meets at Denver in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events.

Huddleston, Taylor and Cassou will lead the women's squad for the first time in their respective careers. Huddleston achieved NCAA Standard in the 100 freestyle last year and also received Academic All-American Honorable Mention status following the 2014-15 season.

"Each of these student athletes brings a component to leadership that we need and value-communication between athletes and staff, holding themselves and their team accountable, and a great work ethic," Schrader added. "Great teams also have emerging leaders in each class every year and I know they will look to their classmates for leadership to reinforce and build what makes our team great."

Both men's and women's teams will look to defend their Summit League Swimming and Diving Championship titles in the upcoming season.
