July 7, 2015 CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - University of Denver women's golf freshmen Jessica Dreesbeimdieke (Windhoek, Namibia) and Aleana Groenhout (Kirkland, Wash.) were named to the 2014-15 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, Executive Director Roger M. Yaffe announced.
"I am very proud of our two freshmen for demonstrating excellence in the classroom and performing at a high level on the course," Denver head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "It is always a great accomplishment to be an academic all-american and something they will always be proud of."
Dreesbeimdieke and Groenhout helped the women's golf team to a Summit League Championship and a NCAA Tournament regional appearance. Both players return next season looking to add to Denver's 12 straight league championships dating back to 2004.
A total of 758 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50. Click here for full release.
