Hockey To Host First Annual Teddy Bear Toss

Nov. 16, 2016

DENVER - The No. 1-ranked University of Denver hockey team will participate in the first annual teddy bear toss at the hockey game Friday. The teddy bear toss is a part of the toy drive benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver.

DU is partnering with CBS4 to make the Care 4 Colorado campaign successful for the children of the Boys and Girls Club.

The toss will happen during the first intermission of the hockey game when the No. 1-ranked Denver Pioneers play host to Miami (Ohio) on Friday night at Magness Arena.

The teddy bear toss will be the kick-off event for the first annual Toy Drive which is led by the efforts of the DU cheer team. After Friday's game, there will be toy drops at the entrance of every home sporting event for hockey, and men's and women's basketball until Dec. 15th.

Additionally, there will be a large drop on Dec. 10th in the Ritchie Center Circle from 9 - 11 a.m. to help remove donations from cars from community members who wish to participate in the toy drive.
