Storylines & History
• Denver returns home for its final two games before the holiday season on Friday and Tuesday. Friday brings the Redhawks of Seattle University to Magness Arena.
• This will be the seventh time the two teams meet.
• Seattle holds a 5-1 series lead over the Pioneers, including defeating the Crimson and Gold in their last meeting on Dec. 3, 2015 by a final score of 59-51.
Pioneers This Season
• Coach Kerry Cremeans' squad is averaging 62.7 points per game while allowing 68.3 ppg.
• The Pioneers are currently shooting 38.3 percent from beyond the arc, second-best in the Summit League and ranking 24th nationally.
• DU grabs 35.1 rebounds per game and dishes out 10.2 assists.
• The Crimson and Gold swipe an average of 6.1 steals per contest, led by freshman guard Briana Johnson's 12 steals - 14th best in the league.
• Sophomore guard Samantha Romanowski leads DU with 12.5 points per game, including a career-high 25 point game in the match at Idaho State.
• Senior guard Jacqlyn Poss adds 12.2 ppg.
• Senior forward Jesse Spittel has 6.1 rebounds per game for the Crimson and Gold, which puts her at ninth-best in the Summit League. Spittel recorded the first double-double game of the young 2016-17 season against Pepperdine when she collected career-highs in both points and rebounds with 20 and 16.
About Seattle
• Seattle University is averaging 59.7 points per game while giving up 67.8.
• The Redhawks are currently 2-9 on the season.
• They are shooting 36.6 percent from the floor and grabbing 37.1 rebounds per game.
• Kaylee Best leads the Redhawks in points per game with 16.0.
• Alexis Montgomery has 7.2 rebounds per game, leading SU and adds 14.4 ppg.
Freshman Phenom
• Guard Lauren Loven is shooting lights out for the Pioneers this season, ranking 17th nationally in total three-point field goals made with 32. Loven is ranked 12th in the Summit League in 3-point shooting percentage with 41.6 percent.
