National Rankings

DENVER - For the second week in a row, the University of Denver women's gymnastics team moved up a spot nationally, this time up to No. 12 in the latest Road to Nationals rankings, released Monday. DU posted a 196.675 on Saturday against Utah State--a new season high--which increased its team average to 195.945.

The Pioneers are also ranked inside the top 25 on all four events for the first time this season. Denver is No. 8 on floor (49.125), No. 13 on both vault (49.020) and bars (49.075), and No. 21 on beam (48.725).

Senior Nina McGee (Cincinnati, Ohio) continues to move up the individual rankings, now up to No. 3 in the all-around with a 39.460 average. It is the highest that a Pioneer has been ranked in the all-around since Jessica Lopez was No. 2 in 2009.

McGee is also ranked No. 3 nationally on floor (9.940), No. 8 on bars (9.885) and tied for No. 17 on vault (9.865).

The Road to Nationals rankings will be released Monday mornings during the season. Through February 21, rankings will be determined by average score. Beginning the week of February 22, rankings will be calculated by Regional Qualifying Score (RQS).

Denver is on the road for the next two weeks. The Pioneers compete at the Perfect 10 Challenge in Oklahoma City this Friday, followed by a quad meet at Penn State on February 20. DU returns home on February 27 against Iowa, SE Missouri and Illinois-Chicago at 6 p.m. in Hamilton Gymnasium.
