San Diego, Calif. - The 46th-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team defeated the No. 49 Harvard University 4-3 today on the second day of competition at the San Diego Invitational.

The Pioneers went 2-0 in doubles action today and 3-3 in their singles matches.

DU received singles victories from Diogo Rocha (Lisbon, Portugal), Alex Gasson (Alton, United Kingdom) and Yannik James (St. Georges, Grenada).

In doubles play, Rocha and Henry Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) beat Nicky Hu and Sebastian Beltrame 6-1, while teammates James and Jesse Ruder-Hook (Denver, Colo.) defeated the Harvard pair of Christopher Morrow and Andy Zhou 6-3. Gasson and David Fox (Surrey, United Kingdom) also competed in doubles play, however their match went unfinished.

Denver will finish up competition at the San Diego Invitational tomorrow with a to-be-determined opponent in their next match.
