DU Women Finish Competition at NCAA's

Day Three Preliminary Results

Atlanta,Ga. - The University of Denver Women's swim team finished competition on the final day of the 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships. The championship races took place at the McAuley Aquatic Center on Georgia Tech's campus in Atlanta, Ga.

Freshman Bailey Andison (Smith Falls, Ontario) set two new school records during the NCAA Championship week in the 200 IM and 400 IM. Her finals time of 4:06.97 in the 400 IM was good for 10th place overall, while also setting a new Summit League record.

Amanda Sanders (Superior, Colo.) swam in the 200 breaststroke event today and finished 24th overall in the preliminary race with a time of 2:10.31. Maddie Myers (Arvada, Colo.) swam in the 1650 freestyle race and finished 27th overall with a time of 16:21.86. Teammate Morgan McCormick (Golden, Colo.) competed in the 200 backstroke and finished 26th overall with a time of 1:54.44. Junior Johanna Roas (Munich, Germany) also raced in the 200 backstroke event and finished with a time of 1:55.82, good for 38th overall in the preliminary round.

The 400 free relay team of Roas, Lauren Moden (Parker, Colo.), Zoe Huddleston (Rothschild, Wis.) and Morgan Wice-Roslin (Colorado Springs, Colo.) swam to a 27th place finish with a time of 3:20.27 in their race.

"Our program reached another level this year and it was a privilege to have Denver represented by this Team at the NCAA's this week," head coach Brian Schrader said. "We want to build off this experience and continue to score points and swim in finals. It was great to have some Top-25 performances and to add another woman to our list of All Americans."

The NCAA Men's Swimming Championships will begin next week in Atlanta, Ga. from March 24-26 at the McAuley Aquatic Center. Dylan Bunch (Boulder City, Nev.), Anton Loncar (Hillsboro, Oreg.) and Kyle Robrock (Savage, Minn.) will represent the Denver men's team at this year's NCAA Championships.
