Brookings, S.D. - The 48th-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team defeated Western Illinois University 7-0 today at a neutral site match in Brookings, S.D.

The Pioneers went 2-0 in doubles action today and a perfect 6-0 in their singles matches.

DU received singles victories from Diogo Rocha (Lisbon, Portugal), Yannik James (St. Georges, Grenada), Jesse Ruder Hook (Denver, Colo.), Zach Fryer (Centennial, Colo.), Wyatt Lovera (Miami, Fla.) and Mark Ihrig (Munster, Ind.).

In doubles play, James and Ruder Hook paired up to defeat Nikola Pavlovic and Surya Sawhney (WIU) 6-0, while Lovera and Ihrig beat Chris Nozum and Brady Smith 6-0 in their doubles match. Fryer and Rocha also competed in doubles play, however their match went unfinished.

Denver will finish their weekend tomorrow against Summit League opponent South Dakota State at 12:30 p.m. MT.
