DENVER ââ'¬" The University of Denver women's golf team will head to Baton Rouge, La. for the NCAA Regionals on May 5-7 at The University Club. This will be a three-day, 54-hole tournament featuring 18 teams with the top six teams and top two non-team qualifying individuals advancing to the NCAA Nationals in Eugene, Ore.
The host institution will be LSU with the course playing 6,285 yards on the par 72 course. The Pioneers will go in as the No. 14 seed.
The Crimson and Gold will take the same five golfers that all finished in the top eight at The Summit League Championship, led by individual medalist Jessica Carty (Holywood, Northern Ireland). Carty tied the 54-hole record for lowest score beating teammate Mariell Bruun (Larvik, Norway) by four strokes. Jessica Dreesbeimdieke (Windhoek, Namibia) finished in a tie for third, with Katharina Baratta (Klosterneuburg, Austria) rounding out the top five finishes in fifth place. Sophie Newlove (Nottingham, England) tied Carty's course record 69 in round two en route to a tied for eighth finish.
