AZTEC INVITATIONAL
• The Pioneers visited San Diego to compete in the Aztec Invitational and came away with a 2-1 record
• DU lost to [RV] Michigan State in three sets, defeated Marist in three sets, and defeated host San Diego State in five sets to claim second place

ALL-TOURNEY TOPS
• Nola Basey and Ruth Okoye both made the All-Tournament team after their stellar performances
• Basey finished with 21 kills in three contests in San Diego, to go with 23 digs, and five service aces
• Okoye led with a blistering .417 hitting percentage on 18 kills and led the team with 13 total blocks, two solo and 11 assists

THE FIRST
• First-year head coach Tom Hogan claimed his first victory at the helm of the program after the win against the Marist Red Foxes

ATTACK OF THE PIONEERS
• Basey is one of three Pioneers with over 20 kills, led by the duo of Becca Latham and Kayla Principato with 25 apiece
• Latham owns a 2.27 k/s average to go with a .228 hitting mark on 57 attempts
• Principato's kill total is coupled with a .270 mark and a 2.27 k/s average on 63 attempts
• Emma Willis sits second on the team with a .316 hitting mark with eight kills in 19 attempts
• DU is hitting .218 as a team while holding opponents to a .172 mark

MAY I BE OF SOME ASSISTANCE?
• Piyusha Boteju and Monique Domme have split setter duties in the first three contests for Denver
• Boteju leads the way with 57 assists for a 5.18 a/s average in 11 sets
• Domme is close behind with 51 assists at 4.64 per set in 11 sets

WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
• Okoye leads the team with her 13 total blocks while Principato is the second Pioneer with double digit figures at 11 block assists
• Willis is close behind with nine block assists and Latham rounds out the quartet with five block assists
• Denver is out-blocking their opponents with 22.5 total (41 assists, two solo) compared to 22.0 blocks from the opposition (36 assists, four solo)

DIGGING FOR GOLD
• Four Pioneers have recorded at least 20 digs on the season so far in addition to Basey's 23
• Boteju and Cassidy Rooke each lead the way with 26, both owning a 2.36 d/s rate
• Domme is the other DU member on the list with exactly 20 digs on the year

ACE UP THE SLEEVE
• Denver has nearly doubled their opponent's service ace total at 22 to 12
• Olivia Novotny has kept a torrid pace on the year with seven aces at 0.64 per set, putting her 43rd in the nation in service aces
• After Basey's five aces, Boteju sits third with four while Willis and Domme each have three

VIP MEMBERS ONLY
• Moni Corrujedo became the 14th member of the 1000 kill club after her first in the opening set against San Diego State
• Corrujedo currently owns 1007 kills in her career and is on pace to break the top 10 by season's end

KEEPING UP THE PACE
• Other DU members who are on pace to reach a major career milestone during this season:
• Basey can reach 1000 kills by season's end at her current pace of 1.91 per set
• Boteju can become a member of the 1000 assist club by October at her current pace of 5.18 per set
• Domme can also reach the 1000 assist plateau by the end of September at her current pace of 4.64 per set
• Okoye can break the 300 total blocks barrier by October at her current pace of 1.18 per set
• Rooke can eclipse 1000 digs by October at her current pace of 2.36 per set
