Jan. 10, 2017 ELMHURST, Ill. (DU/Summit League) - Junior Morgan McCormick (Golden, Colo.) and redshirt-senior Andrew Torres (Arvada, Colo.) were named Summit League Swimmers of the Week and freshman Sammy Walker (Los Gatos, Calif.) earned her second Summit League Diver of the Week award this season, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Morgan McCormick, DENVER
Jr. // Golden, Colo.
- Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the second time in her career, first this season
- Had a winning time of 57.13 in the 100 back for the fourth time this season
- Earned her fifth event win in the 200 back with a time of 2:01.34
Andrew Torres, DENVER
Sr. // Arvada, Colo.
- Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career
- Finished first in the 200 fly (1:50.36)
- Had a time of 48.89 in the 100 fly
Sammy Walker, DENVER
Fr. // Los Gatos, Calif.
- Earned her second career Summit League Diver of the Week, second this season
- Scored a 283.95 in the three-meter dive, placing her fourth in the league
- Had scores of 228.83 and 239.18 in the one-meter dive

Denver's men's and women's programs will be back in action this weekend for a two-day meet at El Pomar Natatorium. Denver welcomes Minnesota and Wyoming to the Mile High City beginning Friday at 4 p.m. MT. Saturday's action starts at 12 p.m. MT with Denver's annual senior day recognition beginning at 11:45 a.m. Diving events begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
