• Denver enters this weekend on a three-game winning streak, outscoring opponents 15-5 in that stretch and going 6/15 (40%) on the power play

DENVER SNAPSHOT

• Denver enters this weekend ranked 8th in the NCAA in scoring offense (5.00 goals per game) and 7th in scoring defense (2.00 goals against per game). The Pioneers lead the nation in shots on goal per game (42.7)

• Troy Terry (6-4-10) and Dylan Gambrell (3-7-10) enter this weekend tied for 11th among NCAA scorers

• The Pioneers finished 5/10 (50%) on the power play and 8/10 (80%) on the penalty kill last weekend

DENVER LAST SERIES

• Denver defeated Boston University, 4-3, on Friday and Boston College, 6-1, on Saturday to beat both teams in the same season for the first time since the 1985-1986 season

• After Denver took a 3-2 lead into the first intermission on Friday, the teams skated through a scoreless second period and set up for a wild finish in Agganis Arena. Boston University evened the score at 13:21 of the third period, but Troy Terry's goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation secured the win for the Pioneers

• The Pioneers scored five (5) goals in the final 40 minutes on Saturday's game and finished 3/6 on the power play en route to their largest margin of victory of the season

• The Pioneers will host No. 2 St. Cloud State on Nov. 10-11 at Magness Arena

WESTERN MICHIGAN SNAPSHOT

• The Broncos rebounded from a 0-2-1 stretch with a 3-1 win against Michigan State last Saturday to split the weekend series with the Spartans

• Colt Conrad enters this weekend tied for 5th in NCAA scoring with 11 points (5-6-11) through seven (7) games...Wade Allison has nine (9) points (2-7-9) in seven (7) games

• Despite Western Michigan's three (3) losses, two of three losses have been one-goal games before the opponent added an empty-netter

WESTERN MICHIGAN LAST SERIES

• The Broncos fell, 6-4, to Michigan State on Friday in East Lansing, Mich. before defeating the Spartans, 3-1, in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Saturday

• Michigan State took an early 2-0 lead on Friday, but Western Michigan was able to even the score in the third period before the Spartans tallied the game-winner with 1:26 left in regulation. Michigan State sealed the game with an empty-netter at Munn Ice Arena

• The Broncos held the Spartans to only 16 shots and used two (2) third-period goals to secure a victory on Saturday at Lawson Arena

WESTERN MICHIGAN: UP NEXT

• Western Michigan will continue conference play with a road series at the University of Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 10-11

PIONEERS IN THE POLLS

• The Pioneers took the top spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll for the sixth-consecutive week, receiving all 34 first-place votes

• Denver took the top spot in the USCHO.com poll for the fifth-consecutive week, receiving 42 of 50 first-place votes

GAMBRELL REACHES MILESTONE

• Dylan Gambrell reached 100 career points (33-67-100) in 85 career games on Oct. 28 against Boston College

• Gambrell is tied for 92nd among Denver's all-time scorers

TAKING SHOTS

• The Pioneers enter this weekend leading the NCAA in average shots per game with 42.67

• Troy Terry and Dylan Gambrell lead the team, averaging 4.00 shots per game

TERRY NAMED NCAA THIRD STAR OF THE WEEK

• Troy Terry was named NCAA Third Star of the Week following his five-point weekend against Boston University and Boston College

• After recording an assist and the game-winning goal with 17 remaining in regulation on Friday, Terry added three assists on Saturday

BUTCHER SETTING RECORDS

• 2017 Hobey Baker Award winner Will Butcher (New Jersey Devils) became the first player in NHL history to record at least eight (8) assists in his first five (5) career games. Butcher recorded 103 points (28-75-103) in 158 games for the Pioneers from 2013-2017

STASTNY REACHES MILESTONE

• Former Pioneer Paul Stastny (St. Louis Blues) recorded his 600th NHL point in a game against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 19. Stastny posted 98 points in 81 games with the Pioneers from 2004-2006

DENVER PIONEERS SUCCESS

• Denver Athletics has claimed the I-AAA Directors' Cup in nine (9) of the last 10 seasons, for the top finish in the Directors' Cup standings amongst schools without football

• The Pioneers have claimed 32 National Championships in their history (skiing - 23, men's hockey - 8, men's lacrosse - 1)

• The athletic department has 21 National Semifinal appearances, including eight (8) since 2011

• Denver's 35th place overall Directors' Cup finish in 2016-17 is the department's best in its history. DU's men's programs finished fifth in the Capital One Cup for the second time in three years

• Entering 2017-18, the Pioneers are among eight (8) athletic departments in the country to take home an NCAA title in each of the last four (4) years

PIONEERS IN THE NHL DRAFT

• The Pioneers have had at least one (1) player selected in the NHL Draft for the last 16 years. This season, Denver has five (5) prospects with Henrik Borgstorm (FLA, 2016), Dylan Gambrell (SJS, 2016), Troy Terry (ANA), Blake Hillman (CHI, 2016) and Ian Mitchell (CHI, 2017)

• Denver has three (3) players eligible for the 2018 NHL Draft: Jaako Heikkinen, Griffin Mendel and Dayton Rasmussen

• The 2018 NHL Draft is set to be held from June 22-23 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas

PIONEERS IN THE NHL

• Six (6) Pioneers were named to NHL Opening Day rosters: Tyler Bozak (Toronto Maple Leafs), Will Butcher (New Jersey Devils), Paul Stastny (St. Louis Blues), Nick Shore (Los Angeles Kings), Jason Zucker (Minnesota Wild) and Scott Mayfield (New York Islanders)

• At least one student-athlete from the last seven (7) seasons is on an NHL roster
