PIONEERS DROP 4-2 DECISION TO MUSTANGS

March 12, 2017

The DU men's tennis team battled Cal Poly in an intense back-and-forth team match on Sunday at Lifetime Fitness Centennial, giving the No. 45-ranked Mustangs all they could handle but coming up just short on the scoresheet as the visitors took the decision by a 4-2 final. Denver is now 5-8 on the season while Cal Poly is 11-5.

After dropping the doubles point to the Mustangs, Denver pulled ahead 2-1 on the strength of a pair of straight-set singles victories by seniors Alex Gasson & Yannik James. Cal Poly was able to take the next four singles matches however, capturing the team victory in the process.
