DENVER— After a winning weekend at home, the Pioneers will hit the road to face Omaha on Tuesday 6 p.m. MT in a highly-anticipated Summit League matchup. The Pioneers (18-1, 7-0 SL) and Mavericks (12-7, 7-0 SL) remain the only two teams undefeated in the Summit League.
The Crimson and Gold swept both matches last weekend to remain perfect this season in Hamilton Gymnasium (11-0). With the wins, Denver improved to 18-1 for the season, the best record in program history.
After 19 matches, Denver is averaging 14.2 kills per set, 13.2 assists, 2.1 aces and 13.8 digs. Senior
Becca Latham leads the team with 227 kills,
Ellie Anderson leads with 443 assists, and
Macy Carrabine leads with 157 digs.
The Pioneers rank in the NCAA Top-25 nationally in five categories: aces per set (No. 1), total aces (No. 4), hitting percentage (No. 13), kills per set (No. 16) and assists per set (No. 19). DU also checks in at No. 1 in five Summit League categories: kills per set (14.17), assists per set (13.23), aces per set (2.1), total aces (147) and hitting percentage (.278).
The Mavericks hold a 12-7 (7-0) mark for the 2018 season. Omaha is averaging 13.62 kills per set, 12.85 assists, 2.06 blocks, 14.45 digs and 1.44 aces. Sydney Case leads the team with 11.53 assists per set, ranking No. 1 in the league. Omaha closely follows the Pioneers in the Summit League, ranked No. 2 in hitting percentage (.231) and assists per set (12.85).
