DENVER— The University of Denver women's volleyball team continues its efforts in the 2018 campaign with two road matches this weekend. The Pioneers will face South Dakota at 6 p.m. MT on Friday, Oct. 5 and North Dakota at 1 p.m. MT on Sunday, Oct. 7.

Denver holds a 14-1 mark after 15 matches, the best start in program history. The Pioneers beat out their previous best, having held a 13-2 record after 15 matches in 2008. DU is averaging 14.09 kills per set, 13.09 assists, 2.11 aces, 13.35 digs, and 2.21 blocks. Senior Becca Latham leads the team with 189 kills this year, Ellie Anderson leads with 352 assists, and Lydia Bartalo tops the leaderboard with 37 aces.

Denver ranks in the top-25 nationally in four categories; No. 1 in service aces per set (2.11), No. 6 in team aces (120), No. 11 in hitting percentage (.283) and No. 18 in kills per set (14.09). The Crimson and Gold also rank first in six Summit League categories; kills per set, hitting percentage, blocks per set, service aces, aces per set and assists per set.

South Dakota is 10-6 this season, remaining a perfect 5-0 at home and 4-0 in league play. USD averages 12.92 kills per set, 11.93 assists, 1.77 blocks, 1.6 aces, and 17.88 digs. The Coyotes rank No. 1 in the Summit League in digs per set (17.88) and No. 2 in total digs (1,073). Hayley Dotseth has 234 kills and Anne Rasmussen has 318 digs to lead the team in the respective categories.

North Dakota, the newest member of the Summit League, hold a 12-8 (4-1) mark for the season. The Hawks are averaging 12.55 kills per set, 11.67 assists, 2.05 blocks, 17.03 digs, and a .209 hitting percentage. UND ranks No. 1 in the league in kills (954), total attacks (2,824), and blocks (156). Kayla Williams leads the Hawks with 250 kills, Roose Rautio leads with 791 assists, and Taliyah Flores leads with 351 digs.
