Denver to host five meets, compete against teams from Big 12, SEC, Big Ten, Pac-12

DENVER – The University of Denver women's gymnastics team has announced its 2019 meet schedule. DU will host five home meets including three in Magness Arena.

On Denver's schedule are all three fellow Big 12 Conference teams as well as opponents from the SEC, Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences. In total, DU will compete against four NCAA National Championships qualifiers including two Super Six teams that will visit Denver in 2019: Oklahoma and Nebraska.

For the third year in a row, DU will open its season on the road, travelling to Alabama with Michigan and Bowling Green on January 11 before hosting the Pioneers' home opener against Central Michigan, Sacramento State and Texas Woman's on January 19 in Hamilton Gymnasium.

Denver will compete at the Metroplex Challenge on January 26 in Fort Worth, Texas, against NCAA runner-up Oklahoma, NCAA Nationals qualifier Arkansas and Missouri. In an all-Big 12 Conference match-up, DU visits West Virginia with Iowa State on February 2.

DU hosts three consecutive home meets to close out February. Oklahoma will visit Magness Arena on February 10, and DU takes on Illinois State in Hamilton Gymnasium on February 16. Denver will then welcome Iowa State to Magness Arena on February 24.

The final month of the regular season opens with a trip to Illinois-Champaign on March 1 before the Pioneers celebrate Senior Day in Magness Arena on March 10 against Super Six qualifier Nebraska, Arizona State and Pittsburgh. DU's final regular season meet will be a trip to Iowa State on March 15.

This will be Denver's fourth season as an affiliate member of the Big 12 Conference. DU will again compete against Oklahoma, Iowa State and West Virginia at the 2019 Big 12 Championship in March (date and location to be announced).

The new three-day NCAA Regionals format debuts in 2019. The play-in, regional and super regional meets will be hosted on April 4-6 at four sites (Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Oregon State). The 2019 NCAA National Championships (semifinals and finals) will be held April 19-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.
