DENVER— The University of Denver women's volleyball team welcomes Oral Roberts to Hamilton Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. for a Summit League match. In their last home game of the season, the Pioneers will recognize their three seniors,
Becca Latham,
Emma Willis, and
Olivia Novotny, for their accomplishments over the past four years.
Denver holds a 23-1 (12-0 Summit League) mark on the year, taking down South Dakota, the No. 2 team in the league, in five sets on Tuesday. The Crimson and Gold rank in the NCAA Top-25 in six categories; No. 1 in aces per set (2.08), No. 2 in total aces (185), No. 2 in match W/L percentage (.958), No. 5 in opponent hitting percentage (.145) No. 14 in hitting percentage (.271) and No. 19 in kills per set (14.02).
The Pioneers remain atop the league standings for the sixth-consecutive week, with Latham ranking in the top-five in three league categories: No. 4 with 3.21 kills per set, No. 4 with a .336 hitting percentage and No. 5 with 286 total kills.
Oral Roberts travels to Denver with a 9-15 record, going an even 6-6 in league matches. Currently on a two-match winning streak, the Eagles average 12.22 kills per set, 11.52 assists, 2.15 blocks and 17.88 digs. On Sunday, Oct. 28 ORU earned its first sweep in league play this season, taking down Western Illinois at home in the Aerobics Center.
The Pioneers are 9-2 overall against the Eagles, last defeating them 3-1 in Tulsa on Sept. 21, 2018.
