DENVER – The University of Denver women's basketball team continues the season on Sunday afternoon when the Pioneers host Air Force at 1 p.m in Hamilton Gymnasium.
The Pioneers are looking to build off of a strong start after defeating UMKC 92-75 on Friday night. Junior guard
Lauren Loven led the charge for DU scoring 21 points, 15 via the long ball. Loven and fellow guard
Claire Gritt who had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists will welcome the Falcons back to Denver for the first time since 2016-17 when the Pioneers defeated Air Force 65-52. The Crimson and Gold are on a 10-game win streak over Air Force, dating back to the 2008 campaign.
Air Force opened the 2018-19 season with a victory over Western Colorado but fell to George Mason in Colorado Springs on Friday 78-71. Freshman Briana Autrey led Coach Gobrecht's squad in the matchup against George Mason, scoring 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
The teams matched up last season in Colorado Springs where Denver won 75-54.
