[RV] Denver Looks to Clinch Its Fifth-Consecutive Summit League Tournament Title

DENVER— The University of Denver women's volleyball team will face the No. 2 seed South Dakota in the final match of the 2018 Summit League Tournament. The match will be held at 2 p.m. in Hamilton Gymnasium on Sunday.

The Pioneers are looking for their fifth championship title in six years.

Denver entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed, having already clinched its fifth-consecutive Summit League regular-season title back on Nov. 2. On Saturday, the Pioneers defeated Purdue Fort Wayne 3-0 to advance to the championship match.

Senior Becca Latham led with nine kills against the Mastodons, while Ellie Anderson held down the Denver defense, totaling 22 assists.

USD will face the Crimson and Gold in the final match of the weekend, having taking down North Dakota State in the semifinal match on Saturday in four sets. The Coyotes are 20-9 on the year, wrapping up Summit League regular-season matches with a 13-3 mark.

The two previously met on Oct. 30 for a five-set thriller, won by Denver.

The game can be seen on ESPN3 and Altitude TV.
