DENVER – The University of Denver women's basketball team will travel to Lincoln to face off against Big Ten opponent Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.
DU is coming off of a 66-64 loss at New Mexico State despite leading for over 36 minutes in the game. The Aggies held the Pioneers to just 36.6 percent from the floor while outscoring Denver 22-12 in the fourth quarter. Even with the loss, Head Coach
Jim Turgeon's squad is off to the best start in Denver's Division I history. Turgeon's up-tempo style of play produces four players who average double-figure scoring while the team averages 83.9 points per game.
Nebraska is off to a 4-5 start in head coach Amy Williams' third season at the helm. Williams led Nebraska to a 21-11 record last season including 11-5 in the Big Ten and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. The former South Dakota head coach relies on a balanced attack that sees eight players average over 7 points per game. Sam Haiby (10.9 points per game), Kate Cain (9.2 points per game) and Taylor Kissinger (9.2 points per game) lead Nebraska who rank 35
th in the country in assists per game (17.0).
Nebraska holds a 2-0 all-time advantage over the Pioneers but the teams have not met since the 2008-09 season.

TOGETHER 4 COLORADO TOY DRIVE:
The Pioneers have partnered with CBS4 for the Together 4 Colorado Toy Drive to support the Denver community during the holiday season. Beginning Nov. 17, there will be toy drops at every Denver Athletics and Newman Center event thru Dec. 19. Additionally, there will be a Community Shop 'n Drop on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., hosted by the Denver Cheerleading squad at the circle drive on the north side of the Ritchie Center.
