The Denver Pioneers (7-8, 2-1) fell to UC Santa Barbara 5-2 on Sunday in Santa Barbara, Calif.
UCSB opened the match with the doubles point, earning victories at No. 2 and No. 3. The Gauchos continued their success in singles play with wins on four courts to secure the victory. Denver’s Pedro Fernandez Del Valle and Sean Huynh highlighted the day or the Pioneers with Fernandez del Valle earning a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 and Huynh securing a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 6.
The Pioneers return home on Friday, April 6 against Oral Roberts.
