Denver Completes First Day of Aggie Invitational

BRYAN, Texas - The University of Denver men's golf team closed the first two rounds of the Aggie Invitational on Saturday afternoon, shooting rounds of 321 and 310 (631).
Held at the Traditions Club in Texas, par for the 7,146-yard course is 72.
Head coach Erik Billinger went with the lineup of Chris Korte, Eric Hagen, Isaac Petersilie, Jackson Solem and John Sand.
No. 8 Alabama leads the field with a team score of 7-over, eight strokes ahead of No. 31 Kent State and nine strokes over No. 1 Oklahoma State.
"Today was the toughest conditions we have seen all season with the cold temperatures, wind and rain," said Billinger. "Our scores were inflated by some big numbers and having to count an 84 in the morning, which we simply cannot do.
"I still feel like we are improving and learning a ton, even when we are not putting up great results. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm looking for our guys to give it their best effort make a push up the leaderboard."
Korte finished the day tied for 47th with a team-high, 11-over after rounds of 77 and 78. Behind the Littleton, Colo. native was freshman Solem, who fired a pair of 79s to tie for 56th.
In a tie for 65th is Petersilie, who finished the day with rounds of 81 and 80
Meanwhile, Hagen shot rounds of 84 and 79.
Finishing the day for DU was Sand, who went 90 and 74.
