DENVER— The University of Denver women's volleyball team welcomes the Baylor Bears to the Mile High City for a preseason match-up on Friday evening at 7 p.m. MT. Fans are invited to Hamilton Gymnasium to catch a sneak peek of this year's team. Admission to the event is free.
 
Last season, the Pioneers finished with an overall record of 23-6, including 12-2 in The Summit League, and a 14-1 mark at home. They ended the 2017 season on a high note, earning their fourth consecutive Summit League Tournament title, defeating Oral Roberts 3-1. Denver also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth-consecutive year, losing to Cal Poly in the first round.

After losing five starters from last season, head coach Tom Hogan is looking for leadership from senior Becca Latham and sophomore Ellie Anderson to lead Denver to another successful season.

Baylor checked in at 16^th in the AVCA 2018 Preseason Poll and was picked second in the Big-12 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bears finished last season with a 24-7 overall record and 13-3 in the Big-12 Conference, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the third-consecutive year. They lost to Colorado in the second round of last year's NCAA postseason.
