DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball team announced its 2018-19 regular-season schedule on Tuesday. The Pioneers will play in 30 regular-season games for the upcoming year.
The Crimson and Gold will play 13 home contests, 15 on the road and two games at a neutral site.
DU opens the campaign in Magness Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 6 against Maine in a first-ever meeting between the two teams.
The Crimson and Gold then head out to Manhattan, Kan. for a showdown with Kansas State on Nov. 12. The Wildcats are coming off an Elite Eight appearance last year in the NCAA Tournament.
Denver welcomes Abilene Christian to the Mile High City on Nov. 15 in another first-ever meeting between the two teams.
A trip to the Northwest is on deck for the Pioneers during Thanksgiving break. DU will play three games in Seattle, starting on Nov. 23 with Seattle University and followed by Longwood (Nov. 24) and Fairfield (Nov. 25) to wrap up the holiday tournament.
Northern Colorado makes an appearance at Magness Arena on Nov. 28 for another big game against the Crimson and Gold. The two teams put on a classic last time they played in Denver back in winter of 2016, with the Pioneers winning in overtime at the buzzer.
DU then heads on the road for two games against Utah Valley (Dec. 1) and regional foe Air Force (Dec. 5).
A home meeting with Western State on Dec. 9 marks the first time the two have played each other this century.
The Crimson and Gold then begin a stretch of five out of six on the road to close out 2018. First up, another regional rival game at Wyoming (Dec. 11) and then off to California to take on UC-Irvine (Dec. 15). Denver heads home after that for a one-game stop against Montana State (Dec. 18.). The Pioneers close out the year with three straight on the road, highlighted by a big-game match-up against Gonzaga (Dec. 21) in Spokane.
Summit League play then opens with two on the road at Omaha (Dec. 28) and Western Illinois (Dec. 30).
DU gets a friendly home stretch consisting of four out of five games in Magness Arena, starting with South Dakota (Jan. 2) and newest Summit League team North Dakota (Jan. 5). A trip to Brookings, S.D. results in a highly-anticipated meeting against South Dakota State on Jan. 10.
DU wraps up the friendly home stretch with two against North Dakota State (Jan. 16.) and Oral Roberts (Jan. 20).
A one-game trip out to Fort Wayne, Ind. is up next for the Crimson and Gold on Jan. 26 against the Mastodons.
Denver returns home to play host to defending Summit League Champion South Dakota State on Feb. 3 before going back out on the road for two more contests at Oral Roberts (Feb. 7) and North Dakota State (Feb. 9).
A Thursday, Valentine's Day showdown in Magness against Purdue Fort Wayne is set for Feb. 14.
Pioneers wrap up the road portion of their regular-season schedule at South Dakota (Feb. 20) and North Dakota (Feb. 23).
The regular season closes up back at home with two games. First, Western Illinois (Feb. 28) comes to town, followed by the final home contest the year against Omaha (Mar. 2).
From there, Denver heads off to Sioux Falls, S.D. to compete in the Summit League Men's Basketball Championship at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Tournament play is set to begin on Mar. 9.
