DENVER – University of Denver women's soccer junior goalkeeper
Brittany Wilson (Littleton, Colo.) has been named the Summit League Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Wilson made a crucial double save in the first period of extra time, two of seven she had on the day to keep her third cleansheet in the last four matches.
The Denver captain now has 10 shutouts in her career.
"Brittany came up with some big saves to keep us in the game," head coach
Jeff Hooker said after Sunday's match. "At halftime she had the same message as the coaches before we really got in there. She was looking forward to the next 45 minutes. She did a great job of calming the players down, keeping focus and putting a positive spin on it."
UP NEXT: Denver will begin a three-match road swing next Sunday when the Pioneers head to Boulder for the 33
rd Colorado Derby. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. MT and the match will be broadcast live on the Pac 12 Network.
