TULSA, Okla.— The University of Denver women's volleyball team defeated Oral Roberts 3-1 to open Summit League competition for the 2018 season. DU overtook the Eagles by scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23.
The Pioneers hold a 12-1 (1-0) record this year, improving to 6-0 overall in Summit League openers since joining the conference in 2013.
"We are pleased with the win tonight, but not satisfied with our level of play," said head coach Tom Hogan. "Oral Roberts always has a great crowd and they make it a tough place to play, but we grew from it and will be better as we continue through the grind of summit league play. We look forward to being home this Sunday to play against South Dakota State."
