DENVER— The University of Denver women's volleyball team hits the road to compete against North Dakota State on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 12 p.m. MT. The Pioneers are 2-0 in league play and the Bison are 0-3.
Denver holds a 13-1 mark for the season, having lost only to Utah on Aug. 25 in five sets. The Crimson and Gold are averaging 14 kills per set, 13 assists, 13.4 digs, 2.3 blocks, two service aces, and a .284 hitting percentage.
DU is ranked first in four categories in the Summit League: hitting percentage, blocks per set, service aces, and service aces per set. The Pioneers also sit at No. 2 in kills per set, blocks, and assists per set.
Sophomore
Lydia Bartalo is ranked fifth in the NCAA, and first in the league, with 32 total aces this year. Bartalo is on track to beat the Denver individual season record for aces, which is held by Lisa Hunter who tallied 48 aces during the 2003 season.
The Bison have a 2-12 record for the 2018 season, most recently having lost to North Dakota 2-3 in a Wednesday night match on Sept. 26. NDSU is averaging 10.2 kills per set, 9.5 assists, 1.9 blocks, 1.4 aces, 15.4 digs and a .115 hitting percentage. Allie Mauch leads the team with 139 kills and averages 2.62 kills per set.
