DENVER – University of Denver women's skier
Tuva Norbye has been named the RMISA Women's Alpine Skier of the week for her efforts at the CU Invite. Denver currently sits in second place with the men's Giant Slalom Race still to come this weekend.Â
The native of Oslo, Norway had a strong showing in the Giant Slalom and Slalom races on Thursday and Friday in Nederland, Colo.Â
The senior took first place on Thursday in the Giant Slalom, finishing almost a full half-second in front of the second place finisher. Norbye recorded the fastest run of the day, .3 seconds faster than anyone in the field.
She followed up the top-spot with another podium finish on Friday in the Slalom. Norbye picked up an additional 37 team points with a second place finish. Her time was less than .3 seconds slower than first-place but Norbye had the third fastest run of the day.
Next up: The Pioneers will wrap up the CU Invite with the men's Giant Slalom race next week at Montana State. Denver will then participate in the Montana State Invite following the completion of the postponed race.

RIDE THE SKI TRAIN: Join the defending National Champion Denver Ski Team for a day on the mountain on January 26th. The train leaves Union Station at 6:45 am and will arrive at Winter Park Resort at 9 am where the National Champion DU Ski Team will be your expert guides on the mountain offering choices of freeskiing, snowcat tours or snowshoeing. The train will return to Union Station at 6:40 pm on the evening of the 26th.
