Pios Return Home to Face North Dakota State

DENVER – The University of Denver women's basketball team hosts the North Dakota State Bison at 7 pm MT on Thursday evening.

The Pioneers two-game win streak was snapped last Wednesday night at South Dakota State when DU fell 76-59. The 59 points were a season low for head coach Jim Turgeon's squad but DU will look to bounce back at home, where they are 8-1. Lauren Loven (16.4 points per game) leads the Pioneers who have four other double-figure scorers in a high paced offense that ranks sixth in the nation in scoring. The Crimson and Gold also rank inside the top-50 in the nation in 13 statistical categories including top-five marks in 3s made, 3-point percentage, 3s per game and blocked shots.

North Dakota State is just 5-11 overall but 2-2 in the early portion of Summit League play. Fifth-year head coach Maren Walseth's team has already matched their Summit League win total from a year ago with wins over Purdue Fort Wayne (70-54) and Western Illinois (68-60). The Bison are led by Michelle Gaislerova (15.8 points per game), Ryle Nudell (8.8 points per game), Sofija Zivaljevic (8.9 points per game) and Emily Dietz (8.6 points per game) who combine for more than half of their average offensive output. Averaging just 57.8 points per game NDSU will need to find an offensive spark against a Pioneer team that has eclipsed 80 points in all but one home game this season.

North Dakota State holds a 9-7 all-time advantage over the Pioneers but DU has won four of the previous six matchups.
