Snap Shots: Week 18

The Denver Pioneers men's hockey team (14-6-3, 6-6-1-1) looks to rebound from a pair of losses at Western Michigan with a two-game series against North Dakota on Feb. 1-2 at Magness Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m. on both nights.

-The Pioneers are ranked 7th in the USCHO.com poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll
 
Denver Lately
-Denver was swept last weekend for the first time since Nov. 9-10, 2018 at St. Cloud State and has lost consecutive games for only the second time this season
-The Pioneers wrapped up their non-conference schedule with an 8-0-2 record
-Denver is 8-1-3 on home ice, one of only five teams in Division I college hockey with one or fewer losses at home
-The Pioneers have played eight overtime games this season, 2nd-most in the NCAA with a 4-1-3 record

-The Pioneers scored one or fewer goals in a game for only the third and fourth times this season

Denver vs. North Dakota
-The Pioneers and Fighting Hawks are set to close their four-game season series in Magness Arena
-Denver split the series at North Dakota on Dec. 7-8, 2018, falling 4-1 on Friday and winning 2-1 in overtime on Saturday
-The Pioneers trail the all-time series 125-146-14
 
Finlay's Month
-Liam Finlay led the NCHC with 11 points (3-8-11) in January
-Finlay leads the Pioneers with 25 points (11-14-25). The junior forward is having a career-best season, averaging 1.09 points per game compared to .50 (2016-17) and .37 (2017-18)
 
NCAA Leaders
-Denver's freshmen class is 2nd in the NCAA with 82 points (29-53-82), trialing Niagara (86)
-Devin Cooley is 8th in the NCAA with a .929 save percentage
-Jarid Lukosevicius is T-1st in the NCAA with five game-winning goals and T-13th in the NCAA with 13 total goals
-Emilio Pettersen is T-3rd among NCAA freshmen with 22 points (6-16-22)
-Cole Guttman is tied for 2nd among NCAA freshmen with 10 goals
-Slava Demin is 3rd among NCAA freshmen with a +17 plus/minus rating, while Guttman is 4th with a +15 rating
 
Alumni in AHL All-Star Game
-Trevor Moore (Toronto Marlies) and Matt Donovan (Milwaukee Admirals) each participated in the 2019 AHL All-Star Game
-Troy Terry and Henrik Borgstrom were also named to All-Star rosters, but did not participate
