DENVER – The Denver Pioneers men's hockey team had 11 alumni named to NHL opening day rosters, a record-setting number for the program. This year marks the first season Henrik Borgstrom (Florida Panthers),
Dylan Gambrell (San Jose Sharks) and Trevor Moore (Toronto Maple Leafs) have cracked an NHL opening day roster. Six of the 11 alumni played at Denver within the last four years.

Denver will open its 70th Anniversary Season on Oct. 5-6 at Alaska Fairbanks and Oct. 11-12 at Lake Superior State before returning to Magness Arena for its first home series of the season on Oct. 18-19 vs. Boston College.
