SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Following her offensive performances against Omaha and Western Illinois, University of Denver volleyball's junior outside hitter,
Lydia Bartalo was named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
The Colorado Springs native had a career night on Tuesday, leading the Pioneers to a five-set victory over Omaha. Bartalo slammed a career high 21 kills against the Mavericks while also recording her 500th career kill in the contest. Notching her fourth double-double of the season, the junior followed her Tuesday night performance tallying a team high 12 kills and a season high attack percentage of .611 in the Pioneers sweep of Western Illinois on Sunday.
The 2018 All-League selection ended the week with 33 kills averaging 4.13 K/S, two assists and a combined attack percentage of .419 to claim her first Player of the Week nod of her career.
Bartalo and the Pioneers are back in action today at North Dakota (1 PM MT) in search for their fourth-straight win.
