DENVER – The Denver Pioneers hockey team (9-3-2, NCHC 1-3-2-1) ranked 4^th in the USCHO.com poll and 5^th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
 
The Pioneers earned 770 points in the USCHO.com poll on a ballot submitted by 50 voters, including coaches, beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. Minnesota State ranked 1^st with 988 points and 39 first-place votes, while Cornell took 2^nd with 954 points and 11 first-place votes and North Dakota took 3^rd with 890 points. Denver earned 339 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll conducted in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) with input from coaches and members of the media from each of the six Division I college hockey conferences as well as officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey. Minnesota State took 1^st place with 494 points and 17 first-place votes, while Cornell ranked 2^nd with 491 points and 17 first-place votes and North Dakota ranked 3^rd with 419 points. The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) had five teams ranked in the USCHO poll: North Dakota (3), Denver (4), Minnesota Duluth (8), Western Michigan (17) and Omaha (18). The NCHC had three teams ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll: North Dakota (3), Denver (5) and Minnesota Duluth (9).
