Denver Hosts Pioneer Thanksgiving Classic Friday and Saturday

SCOUTING UC IRVINE
•    Tamara Inoue is in her fourth season at the helm of UC Irvine.
•    UC Irvine won its last contest 80-65 on Nov. 19 against Loyola Marymount.
•    The Anteaters sit third in the Big West standings.
•    Junior Jordan Sanders leads the Anteaters in scoring and rebounding, with averages of 16.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING ALABAMA A&M
•    Alabama A&M has a record of 2-3 this year, dropping two of its last three.
•    The Bulldogs topped Georgia State 67-52 in their last outing on Nov. 26.
•    Sophomore Dariauna Lewis is averaging a double-double on the season with a team-leading 16.0 points and 13.6 boards per game.

DOUBLE THE FUN
•    Nelson recorded her fourth straight double-double of the season in the blowout win of Colorado Christian back on Nov. 21 with a season-high 21 points and 10 rebounds.
•    The senior forward leads the Summit League and is currently ranked fifth in the nation in double-doubles with four this season.
•    The Dover, Minnesota native now has 16 double-doubles in her career and is averaging 18.4 points and 11.2 rebounds in 2019-20.
•    Freshman Uju Ezeudu recorded her second double-double of her career against Colorado Christian with 19 points and a game-high 13 boards.

AMONG THE BEST IN THE NATION
•    Denver's 82.0 points per game average ranks 24th in the country this season.
•    DU has been deadly at the line this year, ranking 19th in all of Division I in free-throw percentage at 79.2 percent.
•    The Crimson and Gold have knocked down 99 shots at the charity stripe on the year, the 15th highest in the NCAA.
•    The Pioneers have shown their ability to dominate the glass this season, out-rebounding opponents by 9.2 boards a game, good for 50th in the NCAA.
•    Nelson's ability to get to the line has been on display all year, resulting in 32 made free throws which ranks 15th in the country.
•    Nelson's rebounding numbers have been outstanding so far, ranking 22nd in all of Division I with an 11.2 average.
•    Lauren Loven's 3.0 made 3s per game average is good for 42nd in the NCAA.
•    The Scottsdale, Arizona native's 264 career three-pointers made is sixth among active players in the country.
•    The senior guard is 14th among active NCAA players with 2.72 3s made per game for her career. 
•    Gritt's 3.25 assist-to-turnover ratio is currently ranked 33rd in the entire country.

ATOP THE LEAGUE
•    The Crimson and Gold lead the Summit League in numerous categories including points per game (82.0), scoring margin (+15.4), free-throw percentage (79.2), rebounding margin (+9.2), assists per game (16.4), turnovers forced per game (18.6) and rebounds per game (43.6).
•    Turgeon's squad is second in 3-point percentage (36.8), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.09), turnover margin (+3.6), and free throws made (99.0).
•    Denver comes in at number three in field goal percentage (42.2), blocks per game (3.8), steals per game (9.4), and free throw attempts (125).

INDIVIDUALS REACHING FOR THE SUMMIT
•    Nelson leads the league with 11.2 rebounds per game.
•    The senior forward is top three in the league in six other categories -- points per game (2nd; 18.4), field goal percentage (3rd; 51.8), free throw percentage (3rd; 84.2), free throw attempts (3rd; 38), free throws made (2nd; 32), and rebounds (3rd; 56).
•    The Preseason All-Summit League First-Team selection has been just as good on defense, ranking fifth in blocked shots per game with a 1.4 average, seventh in steals per contest at 2.0, and seventh in total blocks with seven.
•    Loven is atop the Summit League with a 3.0 3s per game average, while sitting sixth with a 3-point percentage of 38.5 percent and third with 15 made 3s.
•    Ezeudu is averaging 15.6 points and 8.2 boards per contest this year, while shooting 46.7 percent from the field -- all fifth best in the Summit League.
•    The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native is fourth in the Summit League in steals per game (2.2), second in free throw percentage (88.0), and sixth with 22 free throws made.
•    Redshirt junior Briana Johnson has dished out 21 assists which is the sixth-best mark, while averaging 4.2 assists per game -- the third-best mark on the season. She is fourth in the league with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.4.
•    Gritt leads the Summit League with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.25.
•    Junior Jasmine Jeffcoat has denied 1.2 shots per game for the seventh-highest mark in the league.
