SCOUTING KANSAS CITY
•    The Roos return two of their top-four scorers from last season -- senior Ericka Mattingly and sophomore Emily Ivory.
•    Mattingly started all 31 games last year and led the Roos in points per game (19.8), assists per game (6.0) and steals (99). She finished second on the team with 6.2 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY
•    The Pioneers lead the all-time series, 4-2, and are 1-2 on the road against the Roos.
•    In their last meeting on Nov. 9, 2018, Denver topped the Roos in Hamilton, 92-75.
•    Senior Lauren Loven led Denver with 21 points while Nelson led the way with eight rebounds.
•    On Dec. 20, 2017, the last time the two teams met in Kansas City, the Pioneers won, 77-68.

2018-19 RECAP
•    Denver finished the season with an 18-14 overall record and 10-6 in Summit League play to finish the regular season in fourth place.
•    After finishing with a winning record last season, the Pioneers posted back-to-back winning marks for the first time since 2010-11 and 2011-12.
•    This is the first time the program has reached 18 wins since the 2011-12 season. It is the first winning record in the Summit League since 2013-14 when Denver joined the conference.
•    The Pioneers advanced to the second round of the WNIT after claiming a first round, 83-75, win at New Mexico. They fell to Idaho, 88-66, in the second round to close out the season.
•    The Crimson and Gold reached postseason play for the third time in school history and first time since 2009-10.

PIONEERS PRESEASON HONORS
•    The Crimson and Gold were picked to finish third in the Summit League Preseason Poll.
•    Seniors Lauren Loven and Madison Nelson were tabbed Preseason All-Summit League First Team.
•    Loven was named to the Anne Meyers Drysdale Award watch list as one of the top-20 shooting guards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
•    Denver finished with a scoring average of 80.2 points per game, the third highest in school history and 10th best in Summit League history.
•    Last year's squad shot the second best mark in program history and sixth best in Summit League history behind the arc with a 38.6 percent.
•    Turgeon's squad set new program records for points (2,568) and three-pointers made (297). The points mark is 11th, while the three-pointers are sixth best in the Summit League record book.
•    The Pioneers blocked 161 shots to record the ninth highest total in Summit League history.

ROSTER AT A GLANCE
•    The 2019-20 Pioneer roster includes seven returners and five newcomers that is headed by seniors Loven and Nelson, and junior Claire Gritt -- all returning starters.
•    Nelson led Denver last season in scoring (16.5), rebounds (8.9), steals (55), and blocks (34).
•    Loven led the way with for three-pointers made (111) and free throw percentage (97.0).
•    Meghan Boyd, Sophia Zulich, Sam Deem, Ezeudu come in as freshman. Alexius Foster joins Denver as a junior transfer from Dawson Community College.
•    This will be the first season on staff for assistant coaches Crystal Reed and Ellen Holton who both joined the program this past summer.

LEADING THE LEAGUE
•    Last season, the Crimson and Gold led the Summit League in rebounding (1,287), three-point field goal percent (.386), and scoring (80.2).
•    Loven led the league with a 44.4 field goal percent last season -- tied for fourth best in a season in school history and 15th best in conference history.
•    Nelson led the conference with 286 rebounds, the fifth highest mark in school history and tied for the 20th best in Summit League history.

LOVEN THE RECORDS
•    Loven now sits in first in program history for career 3-point field goals made (249) and 3-point field goal percent (40.2), while she is fourth in career three-point attempts (619) and 25th in career scoring (1,006).
•    The Scottsdale, Arizona native fired 250 3-pointers and made 111 last season, both new highest marks in school history and Summit League history.
•    The senior guard's 249 made career 3-point field goals are tied for eighth best in league history and her career three-point field goal percent of 40.2 is 13th best in the Summit League record book.

NELSON SHOOTING INTO THE RECORDS
•    The senior forward sits 10th best in school history for career free throws made (229) and career blocked shots (64), while her career free throw attempts (330) are ninth best.
•    Nelson made 136 free throws on 181 attempts, both second best marks in the program record book.
•    Her 527 points is the third highest mark in a season for a Pioneer.

LEADING THE CHARGE
•    Nelson and redshirt junior Briana Johnson were voted the 2019-20 team captains.
