DENVER – The University of Denver volleyball team added Ryen Wilkens to their 2020 roster, head coach
Tom Hogan announced on Monday.
"Ryen joining the Pioneers will instantly upgrade the level of ball control in our gym," Hogan said. "She has a steady presence on serve receive, and she covers a large area on defense. She's a fantastic volleyball player and an even better person, who will contribute to the Denver community on and off the court. We are very fortunate to have Ryen join the Denver family."
The 5'5" libero will come to Denver in the fall by way of Wichita, Kan. During her four-year stint at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, Wilkens was named to the All-Metro team following her junior season and was a two-time first team All-City honoree.
"I chose DU because of the coaching staff and teammates that have been so welcoming, along with the academics and location," Wikens said.
Wilkens has served the community in various volunteer groups as well as being named to the Superior Honor Roll four consecutive years.
