DU Caps Off Home Stand with Northern Colorado

SCOUTING NORTHERN COLORADO
•    The Bears claimed a 59-42 win in their last outing against Chattanooga on Nov. 27. 
•    After starting the season 3-4, Northern Colorado is seventh in the Big Sky.
•    Alexis Chapman leads the Bears in scoring with 14.0 points per game, while Alisha Davis is averaging 7.0 rebounds.

DOUBLE THE FUN
•    Nelson recorded her fifth and sixth straight double-doubles of the season against UC Irvine (24 points & 21 rebounds) and Alabama A&M (25 points & 13 rebounds).
•    The senior forward leads the Summit league and currently ranked fourth in the nation in double-doubles with six this season.
•    The Dover, Minnesota native now has 18 double-doubles in her career.
•    Nelson is averaging a double-double through seven games with averages of 20.1 points and 12.9 rebounds
•    Freshman Uju Ezeudu recorded her second double-double of her career against Colorado Christian with 19 points and a game-high 13 boards.

HISTORIC PERFORMANCE
•    Nelson's 24 point and 21 rebound outing against UC Irvine is only the second 20-20 performance in school history.
•   The former Dover-Eyota High School standout recorded the first 20-20 game in program history on Nov. 23, 2018 against Lamar with 23 points and 20 boards.

WEEKLY HONORS
•    After averaging 24.5 points and 17.0 rebounds in the Pioneer Thanksgiving Classic, Nelson was named the Summit League Player of the Week.
•    This is her fourth honor of her career and second this season with the last coming on Nov. 18. 

AMONG THE BEST IN THE NATION
•    Nelson is top-10 in the NCAA in rebounds per game (3rd; 12.9) and free throws made (9th; 45). 
•    The Preseason Summit League First-Team selection is 21st in the country with 20.1 points per game.
•    Lauren Loven's 22 made 3s are ranked 26th in all of Division I, while her 3.14 3s per game is 27th.
•    The Scottsdale, Arizona native's 271 career three-pointers made is sixth among active players in the country.
•    The senior guard is 13th among active NCAA players with a 2.74 3s made per game average for her career.
•    Junior Claire Gritt's 3.5 assist-to-turnover ratio is currently ranked 13th in the country.
•    Denver has shown its ability to get to the free throw line this year, ranking 20th with 176 free throw attempts and sinking 138 to rank third highest among the NCAA. Its free throw percentage of 78.4 is the 21st best.
•    The Crimson and Gold are 12th in the nation with 82.3 points per game, while averaging the 15th highest mark for rebounds with 46.0.

ATOP THE LEAGUE
•    DU leads the Summit League with 82.3 points per game, 78.4 free throw percentage, and 138 free throws made.
•    Turgeon's squad is second in scoring margin (+11.7), rebound margin (+10.6), assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.07), turnover margin (+2), free throw attempts (176), and rebounds per game (46.0).
•    Denver comes in at number three in 3-point percentage (34.2), assists per game (16.1), and turnovers forced (17.14).

INDIVIDUALS REACHING FOR THE SUMMIT
•    Nelson leads the league with a 12.9 rebounding average.
•    The senior forward is top-five in the league in multiple categories -- free throw attempts (2nd; 52), free throws made (2nd; 45), points per game (2nd; 20.1), free throw percentage (3rd; 86.5), field goal percentage (4th; 48.5), field goals made (4th; 47), and blocks per game (5th; 1.14).
•    On the defensive end, Nelson is averaging the sixth most steals in the league with 2.0.
•    Loven sits atop the league with 3.14 made 3s per game and 63 3s attempted.
•    The senior guard has made 22 3s, the second most and her 34.9 three-point percentage is sixth.
•    Ezeudu is shooting 83.9 from the charity stripe, fourth best.
•    The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native has grabbed 8.0 boards per contest for the sixth most in the entire league.
•    The freshman forward is fifth with 2.0 steals per game and seventh with 26 made free throws.
•    Redshirt junior Briana Johnson is averaging 3.9 assists and has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.29, both fourth highest.
•    The former Serra High School standout has assisted on 27 baskets in 2019-20 -- the fifth best mark.
•    Gritt leads the league with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.5.
•    The Arlington Heights, Illinois native is dishing out 3.5 assists per game, the fifth best in the Summit League.
•    Junior Jasmine Jeffcoat is eighth in the league with 1.0 blocks per game.
