PROVO - The Denver Pioneers men's tennis team (5-3, 0-0) fell 2-5 to No. 27 BYU on Saturday in Provo, Utah.
BYU took the doubles point to start the match with victories on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts.

Pedro Fernandez del Valle were leading Sam Tullis/Ben Gajardo at No. 2, but the match was left unfinished.
On the singles courts, Tullis extended the Cougars lead with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Fernandez del Valle at No. 4. Ros put Denver on the board with a 6-2, 7-5 win against Jeffrey Hsu at No. 2, however BYU would reestablish its two-point lead with Mateo Vereau's 6-2, 7-6 win against
James Davis at No. 3, eventually sealing the match with Mathew Pearce taking down
Daniel Krulig 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
Matt Summers took No. 109 Sean Hull to three sets at No. 1 before falling 5-7, 7-5, 6-4.
Ignatius Castelino helped Denver to their final point of the match, defeating Gajardo 6-0, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 5.
The Pioneers are set to return to the court on Friday, March 1 at Utah State.
