Where are you originally from?
I'm from Fort Collins, Colorado. Home of Big City Burrito and Pio Legends like Brett Koll, Henry Miketa, Kris Banghart,
Destan Norman,
etc…
Why did you choose to attend DU?
I wanted to play at a school that was close to friends and family.
Where are you now/what are you doing?:
For the last two years, I was an assistant coach with the Stanford University Men's Soccer Program. I just accepted an assistant coaching position with the University of Kentucky Women's Soccer Program.
Last time you touched a soccer ball/where?:
I try to play every day! I can only keep up with the Stanford players for about 25 minutes at a time. If I had three weeks of pre-season, I'd be able to put in a solid 60 minutes! I hope to play for another 15 years.
Highlight/favorite soccer memory from your time at DU:
Colin Jones' goal against New Mexico in 2008 - I remember being so tired from celebrating that goal. I could barely move! I have to add that Joe Willis' first attempt at the Red Rocks Run in 2006 came in as a close second.

When is the last time you were back on campus? Do you get back often?
I haven't been on campus in a couple years, but I always enjoy working a summer camp or stopping by to say hello to the coaching staff. The athletics' facilities are fantastic, and the campus is gorgeous. I still root for the teams and maybe I'll be back on campus one day full-time!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I'd like to be surrounded by family and friends. I'd like to have my Masters, all of my USSF Coaching Licenses, another National Championship, and be the Head Coach of a great team. I'd still like to be able to play soccer regularly and compete in Ironman races.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My proudest moment is when Kris Banghart asked me if I'd be the Godfather to his son, Charlie. That was a really cool moment!

What advice do you have for the current Pioneers about life after college?:
For the players: I always thought I was doing enough. I thought the training and the lifestyle the coaches were setting out was enough. If you want to be great in the sport, you need to put more time in on your own. Eventually you'll wish you spent more time in the gym with
Matt Shaw, running Wash Park, taking an ice bath, or doing small group training with your teammates. Outside of the game, I'd say to focus on education but build as many genuine friendships as you can because those people will stick with you for life.
