DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team will look to get back on track on Sunday when it hosts Northern Arizona at 10 am MT. DU was originally scheduled to play two matches in Boise, Idaho, on Thursday and Friday but they have been cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Pioneers, who sit at 6-6 overall and 1-0 in league play, have dropped four of their five last matches dating back to February 23
rd. Despite the tough stretch, Denver has an opportunity to finish the season strong with five home matches remaining, including two Summit League matches. Sophomore
Mattia Ros leads DU from the No. 1 position and is 4-1 in his last five singles matches.
Ignatius Castelino has also provided solid contribution for the Pios, compiling a record of 9-3 in singles competition this season. In doubles play
Matt Summers and
James Davis have shined, going 7-2 at No. 1 while Ros and
Pedro Fernandez Del Valle are 5-4 at No. 2.
