NEW YORK – University of Denver men's lacrosse senior midfielder Colton Jackson (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) has been named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
Jackson recorded his eighth career hat trick and his first of the season against then-[19/RV] Georgetown, becoming the 18^th Pioneer in the program's Division I history to reach 100 career points. The eighth midfielder in Denver's DI history to reach the century mark, Jackson scored three goals on four shots against the ninth-ranked defense in the country entering the week.
 
Earlier on Monday, Denver dropped a spot to ninth in the USILA Coaches' Poll, four spots to 13^th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and two spots to ninth in the Lacrosse Magazine Poll.
 
Denver is coming off a 1-1 week, falling at Princeton on Tuesday (14-13) in head coach Bill Tierney's return, before turning around on Saturday and topping 19^th-ranked Georgetown (16-9) in Tierney's 400^th career victory.

UP NEXT: The Denver men's lacrosse team, Presented by Your Hometown Toyota Stores, will play at home on consecutive-weekends for the only time in the regular season when the Pioneers host Villanova on April 6, with faceoff set for 3 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network and ESPN Denver 1600 (Pioneer Pregame 2:30 p.m. MT). Following the final game of the mini homestand, the Pioneers will travel to St. John's on April 13 for a 1 p.m. ET/11 a.m. MT faceoff on the BIG EAST Digital Network and ESPN Denver 1600 (Pioneer Pregame 10:30 a.m. MT).
