DENVER – University of Denver sophomore goalie
Grayson Manning has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Manning made 15 saves against just nine goals allowed in the Pioneers 10-9 win over Marquette on Friday night at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Monday's award is Manning's sixth of the season and the seventh of his two-year Pioneer career.
The 2026 Tewaaraton Award nominee has finished 60% or better in cage eight times in 13 games this season. Manning leads the country in save percentage at 61.6%, while ranking eighth in goals against average and fifth in saves per game. The Victoria, B.C., native has allowed Denver opponents into double digits in goals just three times in 2026.
UP NEXT: Denver will head to Providence for the 2026 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship this weekend. The Pioneers will take on Georgetown in the first semifinal on Thursday with the opening faceoff set for 2:30 p.m. MT.
