Tulsa, Okla. - The No. 47 Denver Pioneers women's tennis team (16-5, 5-0) defeated South Dakota 4-0 in the Summit League semifinal on Friday in Tulsa, Okla. The Pioneers will play Omaha for the conference championship on Saturday.
Denver started the match with the doubles point as Bianca Mok/Camille Verden-Anderson shutout Tranberg/Nylund 6-0 at No. 1 and Anna Riedmiller/Arisha Ladhani defeated Bondarenko/Janickova 6-2 at No. 3. The success continued in singles play where Verden-Anderson handled Anastasia Bondarenko 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, Riedmiller topped Luana Stanciu 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 and two-time Summit League Player of the Year Mok was victorious over Jana Lazarevic 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1.
The Pioneers will play Omaha for the Summit League Championship and a bid in the NCAA tournament on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. MT.
