TULSA, OKLA. – The No. 47 University of Denver women's tennis team secured the Summit League Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with a 5-0 win over Omaha on Saturday morning.
DU kicked off the match dominating doubles to take an early lead. Bianca Mok/Camille Verden-Anderson got things started with a 6-1 win at No. 1 while Tatum Burger/Hada Chang also won 6-1 to clinch the team point.
The strong showing from Denver continued in singles, where the Pioneers would win three-straight matches to complete the sweep of Omaha. Arisha Ladhani opened singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Omaha's Emily Behling at No. 4. Burger made it 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Natalie Lorentz at No. 3. Sophomore Anna Riedmiller and Chang secured the league title with coinciding wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles. Riedmiller won 6-3, 6-2 over Janelle Wilson while Chang won 6-0, 6-2 over Savanna Crowell at No. 6. Â
