Seven Newcomers to Join Pioneers for 2019-20 Season

DENVER – The Denver Pioneers men's hockey team is set to add seven student-athletes for the 2019-20 season, Richard and Kitzia Goodman Head Coach David Carle announced on Wednesday.

Bobby Brink, Magnus Chrona, Hank Crone, Justin Lee, Brett Edwards, Lane Krenzen and Jay Feiwell comprise a group of four forwards, two defensemen and one goalie set to join the eight-time National Champions.

"We are excited to add these seven men to our roster this fall," Carle said. "First and foremost, they are good people who will fit into our culture. On the ice, their accomplishments speak for themselves – they will add value and depth in many different ways to our program as we pursue our ninth National Championship."

Projected to be a first-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft, Brink had 35 goals, 33 assists and a +23 rating in 43 games for the USHL's Sioux City Musketeers last season. The 5'8" 165-pound Minnetonka, Minn. native was named USHL Forward of the Year after averaging 1.29 points per game to rank 14th overall in USHL history. Brink's 35 goals tied a franchise record and came in a season wherein he missed 19 games. Internationally, Brink represented the U.S. at the 2018 World Junior "A" Challenge and 2019 U-18 World Championship, winning a gold medal and tournament MVP in the former and helping the Americans to a bronze medal in the latter.
